TEBINERI - HAND BUILDING (4 WEEKS COURSE $175)
Hand building is perfect for people looking to create original unique one of a kind pieces.
The following will be taught during tebineri classes.
 
*KINUNERI -  A traditional Japanese kneeding technique, used to remove air, and evens the
 consistency of clay. This technique is also used in soba buckwheat noodle making process!
*Pinching, slab, and coiling. We will make cups, plates and large bowl.
*Understanding how to handle the clay properly. Timing alterations and trimming at leather hard.
*The last class will cover glazing methods.
 
 
ROKURO - WHEEL TROWING (6 WEEK COURSE $265)
Rokuro wheel throwing classes will show a traditional method of Japanese.
The following will be taught during Rokuro classes.
*Learning how to throw off the hump. By throwing off the hump, you will be able to make
 multiple pieces from one large hump of clay.
*Centering pulling and lifting will be focused on.
*Using a shippiki (thread) to cut off the pieces from the hump, instead of the wire.
*Understanding proper weight distribution for throwing pieces in the Japanese custom,
 pieces are used daily, hold in hand so having the correct balance is important.
 
 
ROKURO EXPERIENCED WHEEL CLASS (4 WEEK COURSE $175)
A 4 week course is for Rokuro experience, this course will help you with various other
shapes and trouble shooting help on the wheel.
Other trimming methods will also be covered.
 
Private lessons are also available. Please call for details.
* All classes are two and 1/2  hours long. Including Taiken course.
Clay, tools, and glazes are included in the class fee.
